Chip grew up in Dallas, Texas and attended Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas as an undergraduate. Chip graduated from Southwestern in 1994 with a degree in political science and next attended law school at St. Mary's University School of Law, graduating in 1997. Following a stint practicing medical malpractice defense with Burford & Ryburn, L.L.P. in Dallas, Chip joined Guy Fisher to form Fisher & Evans, L.L.P. in 1998. In 2008, Fisher & Evans, L.L.P. added Jeff Edwards and Sally Metcalfe to become Evans Edwards, L.L.P. In 2007 and 2008, Chip was named a "Texas Rising Star" by Texas Monthly and Law & Politics. "Rising Stars" are chosen by their peers as being among the top up-and-coming lawyers (40 years old or younger, or in practice 10 years or less) in the state. Only 2.5 percent of Texas attorneys receive this honor each year. Chip is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. Chip is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, the Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association, and the Austin Bar Association. Chip and his wife Cadie have lived in Central Texas for 17 of the last 18 years. They have two children, Jack and Sydney. Chip enjoys golf and outdoor activities with his family in his spare time and serves as a volunteer in many community organizations.

Chip Evans is a founding partner of Evans Edwards, L.L.P. Chip brings 11 years of experience as a trial lawyer representing Plaintiffs to the firm. Chip brings a deep knowledge of the nuts and bolts of tort law to the firm, much of which has been learned through his representation of over 2,000 clients in injury matters. Chip has served as lead counsel on numerous cases that have gone to trial and has been lead counsel on several matters where the amount in controversy has exceeded over one million dollars.
